Amazon Prime Day 2024 is over, finished, done, no more…you get the picture. While there were some good GPU deals here and there, it wasn’t the best sales event we’ve seen for the humble graphics card. But that doesn’t mean everything has gone back to full price and we’re still searching for the best GPU deals around, because big events like this carry a bit of momentum.
We still recommend that you buy a current-generation graphics card now, even if you spot a really cheap older GPU. That’s because AMD’s RX 7000-series and Nvidia’s RTX 40-series offer the best bang for your buck. But having just said that, there are a few notable exceptions.
The RX 6750 XT is still a solid buy for 1080p and 1440p gaming. With a generous 12 GB of VRAM, you won’t be left high and dry for memory with the next wave of triple-A games. Also, the RX 6600 is still a good pick if you’re working with a tight budget. AMD’s RDNA 2-powered GPUs are generally still a good purchase but make sure you don’t pay anywhere near their launch MSRPs for one.

Performance comparison
We’ve benchmarked all the latest GPUs of this generation and have tracked their performance against the previous generation through 3DMark Time Spy Extreme scores. Where we don’t have the referential numbers for an older card we have used the average index score from the UL database. These figures track alongside an aggregated 1440p frame rate score from across our suite of benchmarks.

When will Amazon Prime Day 2024 start?
Amazon Prime Day 2024 runs from today, Tuesday July 16 until tomorrow, Wednesday July 17. That’s technically only two days to take advantage, but many deals should keep running longer than that. Amazon isn’t the only retailer set to drop prices on graphics cards over the next few weeks. Best Buy, Newegg, Walmart, Target and more are duking it out to offer the best price on PC hardware, and we’re keeping an eye on all of them.
